California-based Cupertino giant Apple has just launched iOS 15.0.2 and iPadOS 15.0.2 updates for all entitled devices. Apart from many bug fixes, iOS 15.0.2 update also comes with a significant security update. The company has earlier launched iOS 15.0.1 to address the problem with Apple Watch unlocking and iPhone 13.
The latest Apple iOS 15.0.2 and iPadOS 15.0.2 updates address a security defect with IOMobileFrameBuffer, which Apple says might let any app execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, as per the company’s security update. Kernel privileges can provide any harmful code or application unlimited access to system resources such as hardware, memory, and more.
Apple wrote on its security page. Apple is informed of a report that this problem might have been actively exploited. The Apple iOS 15.0.2 and iPadOS 15.0.2 updates are closely associated with a memory corruption problem that enhanced memory manipulation. The vulnerability, which is numbered CVE-2021-30883, is acknowledged by an unknown researcher.
Furthermore, this Apple iOS 15.0.2 update comes as a solution for other problems with iPhone. For example, it comes with a fix for the bug where Photos saved to one’s library from Messages were removed once they deleted the associated thread or message.
