According to reports, the California-based Cupertino tech giant has patented a brand new iPhone case that will have the ability to let users charge AirPods by latching themselves to it.

Moreover, the patent provided by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) displays the iPhone case in images where a cavity on each side is going to house the earbuds to charge them.

Apparently, it is a practical solution to charging the earbuds on the go. Particularly when the AirPods charging case is completely exhausted. The patent further displays at least three variations in implementing the AirPods charging strategy that the Cupertino giant possibly has.

As per the report issued by Patently Apple, the company has gained approval for its patent. It displays an iPhone case with three different solutions for charging the Airpods.

According to all the iPhone case designs displayed in the patent, there will be containers to keep the AirPods. Nevertheless, they will be placed at different points. For instance, the first picture reveals the AirPods going inside the two cavities on the top of the Apple iPhone case.

However, the other patent displays on the back of the Apple iPhone case. And there is the third one that displays AirPods can further be charged by being in the flip cover of the iPhone case. The patent has explained how each solution can be performed.

The solution from these three where the charging is performed by putting the AirPods on the top appears the most realistic. According to the patent, there will be a charging module on the top of the Apple iPhone case beside a cavity on the sideways where every AirPods earbud will be placed.

The Apple iPhone case likely to have a magnet to hold to the iPhone from the inside, possibly utilizing the MagSafe that the company has newly offered with the iPhone 12 series. There could also be a display, a battery back, and internal circuitry inside this iPhone case. As per the other solution for charging AirPods, cavities on the back in the same way.

However, the most satisfying solution will be the flip cover to hold the AirPods earbuds to charge them. The patent further shows that there will be a screen on the outside of the flip. On the other hand, there are two earbuds-shaped cavities on the inside wherein the AirPods are going to house and charge. Apart from these, the display will be beneficial in displaying significant data from the iPhone and the battery status of the AirPods.

In addition to these, the patent reveals that the company also discovering approaches to extend the usage of the Apple iPhone cases beyond just utilizing them for charging.

However, the company still did not disclose these solutions. This patent also does not ensure anything, like filing and obtaining approval for a patent does not indicate the organization will work on it.

The Cupertino tech giant will move forward with the technology if it assumes the design and technology on the patent are possible. I wish this becomes a reality as you never know when you possibly have to charge your earphones. Moreover, the MagSafe tech requires to discover further implementations on Apple products.
