As per an interview to a US TV network of CEO Tim Cook, the California-based Cupertino tech giant has a ‘big announcement’ that they are intended to reveal on Wednesday. However Apple’s that big announcement is not related to a product release.
Tim Cook further stated at the show that everybody concerned with the Jaunary 6 siege of the US Capitol must also be “held accountable”.
CEO Tim Cook was talking to “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King and referred an undefined organization announcement that’s scheduled for January 13 (today). Gayle King also asked Cook about the US Capitol siege over the chat.
Cook stated that,
“I think it’s key that people be held accountable for it. This is not something that should skate. This is something that we’ve got to be very serious about and understand. And then we need to move forward.”
Apart from this, the show host King further questioned Cook that if Donald Trump must be held accountable for his part in encouraging the riot. However, CEO Tim Cook did not mention the President, according to his statement, everybody concerned must be held responsible.
Cook further stated,
“I think no one is above the law. I mean, that’s a great thing about our country, and we’re a rule of law country.”
Moreover, he added,
“I believe everyone that had a part in it requires to be held responsible.”
As a consequence of the Capitol Hill attack thanks to its “failure to moderate content that may have encouraged violence”, the Cupertino giant eliminated pro-Trump social media platform Parler from the App Store.
According to reports issued by AppleInsider, the remarks given by Tim Cook about the Capitol attack and Trump were as part of a deeper interview that “CBS This Morning” will publish on January 13.
However, still it is unclear that what actually this interview is about. The show host king has noted that it will be in connection with a considerable organization announcement. Apart from this, King further explained that it is not a brand new product. Although it is “something bigger and better” that is very interesting.
The video clip teased on Tuesday had a several hints though the interview itself was held remotely. The show host, King speaking from an Apple Store and CEO Tim Cook from Apple Park at Cupertino.
Looking back at what announcements Apple still have to reveal. The Cupertino tech giant is still have to launch the Apple Tracking Transparency feature that’s planned to come early 2021. Furthermore, if this is certainly what Apple will declare today, in the middle of CES 2021, it is exceptional considering Apple has improved its privacy plans during CES in the past also (with a whole billboard advert).
