Many technology organizations are helping in fighting against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and Google is new to the list of those companies. According to reports, Google will transform a couple of its offices located at different US locations into vaccination clinics. Apart from this, the tech giant also assured to give $150 million to support the vaccine’s access and education.
According to the CEO Sundar Pichai’s statement, the search giant has partnerships with health care supplier One Medical and public health administrations. For doing everything from building to the parking lots to open places available for the vaccine works.
The first location that the search giant will provide the service will be Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area in California; New York, Washington, Kirkland, ahead of extending at the national level.
Moreover, with 29 facilities throughout the US, the majority of which are empty or approximately empty thanks to most staff managing the work from home, there must be a considerable amount of choices for people to get vaccinated on Google areas.
According to Pichai,
“The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply affected every community all over the world, It’s also inspired coordination between public and private sectors, and across international borders, on a remarkable scale. We can’t slow down now.”
Apart from offering its facilities, the search giant is further promised to donate funding support. The company will donate an enormous $150 million to support vaccine education and distribution through grants for the World Health Organization, the CDC Foundation, and other worldwide non-profits.
Furthermore, $50 million is intended for public health agencies. The tech giant has further,
“committed $5 million in grants to organizations addressing racial and geographic disparities in Covid-19 vaccinations.”
The search giant is further assisting companies in accelerating the supply of vaccines via its Google Cloud service. At the same time, Search and Maps are going to emphasize “authentic information and local vaccination sites.”
The search giant is pursuing Amazon in its commitment to help with the vaccine deployment. Jeff Bezos’ company desires to promote Joe Biden to attain his objective of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the initial 100 days of his administration. Google has partnered with a third-party professional health care provider to determine the vaccines on its buildings.
