Developer mode on iOS 16 is required now for the sideloaded apps to work again on your devices.
If you haven’t installed iOS 16 yet, but when you do in the near future, sideloaded apps will not work, and you’ll see a message Developer Mode required, see the image below.
It’s not something like Altstore installation failed or any other sideload issue; it’s because of the new iOS 16 release.
Before it, sideloading apps and trusting the developer profile was enough, but even if you trust the developer profile, the apps will not work.

How to turn on developer mode on iOS 16 iPhone

Step 1. Go to settings
Go into your iPhone’s settings, then scroll down at the end in privacy & security.
Step 2. Enable developer mode on iPhone
When you see the developer mode option at the end in the privacy & security section, tap on the developer mode option, and enable the toggle; see the image above.
Step 3. Restart to activate developer mode on iOS 16
Once you enable the developer mode, it will show you the restart option.
Now the restart is a must to enable developer mode on iOS 16.
After the restart, you’ll see the popup stating Turn on Developer mode. Please tap on the Turn On option to enable it.
Keep in mind that after the developer mode is turned on in iOS 16, the device’s security will be reduced because the developer mode is used to enable some features to develop iOS apps.
Step 4. Open third-party apps after developer mode are enabled on iPhone
