Hopefully, you are enjoying The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney as it is now much popular among viewers. Nielsen unveiled that the show’s debut episode attracted 495 million minutes of viewing time during its first week. Thus it becomes the most-watched series premiere ever on the platform.
According to Nielsen, the first episode of the show could draw 495 million minutes of views from March 15 to March 21. While, WandaVision, the other recent Marvel series of the service got views for 434 million minutes in its first week, its episodes are short though. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier also surpassed both season premiers of the Mandalorian.
As written by Engadget, the only original to beat The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was Netflix’s Ginny and Georgia. It gained 540 million minutes viewed in the same week, though Netflix’s 200 million subscribers are about twice that of Disney+ and all series of the comedy-drama arrived at once, rather than being rolled out weekly.
Disney+ will perhaps get more subscribers as its content list increases: Black Widow becomes available on the platform and in theaters immediately; the Tom Hiddleston-starring Loki is on its way; Hayden Christensen is repeating his role as Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series; a sequel series to 1980s fantasy classic Willow with Ron Howard and Warwick Davis is also underworking.
The subscription price for Disney+ has recently been increased, however, it seems the extra $1 per month hasn’t pushed its fan away. The Disney bundle which comprises Disney+, ESPN+, and the ad-supported version of Hulu reached $13.99 a month, and the package with the ad-free version of Hulu is available for $19.99 a month.
