September 10th 2019, Apple has announced the new iPhones, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 5 and new iPads. This article is not solely about iPhone, but about new watch series and iPads as well so follow me on this detailed article on what happened in Apple event on 10th of September.
Let’s start from new iPad
What's Covered Below?
- New iPad
- Apple Watch Series 5
- iPhone 11 / iPhone 11 Pro / iPhone 11 Pro Max
Apple has replaced its entry-level iPads with a new 10.2 inches iPad. It still has a home button and Touch ID, a bigger screen and better value as well. Apple is investing in its iPad lineup to reiterate that with iPadOS, it has really been a transforming experience for all the new iPads.
This new iPad replaces the 9.7 inches entry-level model, now its 10.2 inches. Moreover, it is powered by Apple A10 fusion chipset, meaning you got more power in it. They have added the smart connector as well so you can now use the accessories like a smart keyboard case and so on.
Price and Availability Os New iPad
Well, it’s not a huge upgrade, its 10.2 inches entry-level iPad and there is not much more you can get for a $329 entry price. It’s a fantastic value though, even a cheaper version for the students available on September 30th.
Apple Watch Series 5
Same as the leaks and rumours suggested, it’s like a series 4.5, not a series 5. It’s not getting new silicon as well as keeping the same processor as in Apple Watch Series 4. It can’t be absolutely same, there are a few changes made to it.
The hardware is different with the addition of an LTPO display that has the ability to change the refresh rate from 1 – 60 Hz. With this change, the always-on display is now possible, it will be slightly dim and will save your battery life. Due to this variable refresh rate display, Apple is able to keep the battery life exactly the same as series 4.
In a clever way, Apple has adjusted the apps to work with the low light always-on display. Apple has added a few new sensors as well in it, so it is not exactly the same as Apple watch series 4 but has few improvements.
Compass Inclusion In Apple Watch Series 5
There is now a compass built into the Apple watch that takes advantage of it in the Maps applications. Meaning that whichever way you turn it, your Apple Watch will let you know.
Emergency Call Without Service
With Apple cellular watch model, you can call 911 or any emergency number from anywhere around the world despite having the service or not.
Should You Upgrade To Apple Watch Series 5??
If you are already using a series 4 watch, in my opinion, it’s not worth to upgrade it. It’s using the same processor, although there are a few new features. But there is nothing groundbreaking, there is no sleep tracking as well.
Price And Availability Of Apple Watch Series 5
It will be available from September 20th, $399 for a GPS model and $499 for a cellular model. Apple will continue selling Apple watch series 3 for $199 and the series 4 is going away being replaced by this new Apple watch series 5.
