The latest Windows 10 cumulative update, version 1809 KB4482887 is creating performance issues reportedly in certain titles and causing some negative mouse effects. You might have noticed that your mouse or games are misbehaving, it’s not an issue with your mouse or games but related to the operating system itself.
Microsoft has acknowledged these in a release note that the issue as known and notes that the users might see mouse and graphics performance degradation is games like Disney 2.
However, the impact is not global but appears to be the game specific, the Disney 2 is not the only title suffering but the older games such as Call of Duty and Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2 are also suffered by this update, according to some users on Reddit. The other supposed affected titles include Sea of Thieves and Apex Legends.
The cumulative update KB4482887 also enabled the retpoline Spectre mitigation on devices but that is not the culprit as it has to be enabled manually. As no other problems are reported except gaming, so the users who don’t play games got nothing to worry about and this KB4482887 comes with many other quality of life improvements for Windows 10.
We recommend you to uninstall cumulative update KB4482887 and wait till the stable official update because Microsoft has already started working on a fix.
