The California-based Cupertino giant is currently extending its FaceID repair program for the users of the iPhone X. The company has announced this program in March for repairing FaceID on iPhone XS and later without replacing the whole smartphone.
Consequently, if you are one of them you are facing a Face ID issue on your iPhone X and the company is going to repair it for you without replacing your complete device which Apple does previously.
In the past, the Cupertino giant usually replace the complete device with the latest renovated replacement when they have to fix a broken Face ID. Apparently, this is a good deal in case the user had an AppleCare warranty, which is unbelievable for an iPhone X user. Because the device was discarded back in 2018.
And this further indicates that a complete replacement of the iPhone X would cost approximately $549. For the time being, we don’t have any details about how much the TrueDepth camera replacement is going to cost.
According to the latest report issued by MacRumors, presently the Cupertino giant along with a licensed repair store is going to be able to repair Face ID on the iPhone X and they don’t even have to replace the complete replacement of the device.
Apple rolls out this update following its current move to provide a TrueDepth Camera service option that solves the face unlock of iPhone XS and later models much more simply at a reduced cost. In the beginning, Apple didn’t incorporate the 2017 iPhone X model.
Apart from that the program further made it simpler for third-party repair shops to repair displays not having to break the Face ID. It was hard to repair only the Face ID component because it is a pretty complicated system.
It further includes four components which are a dot projector, an IR camera, a flood illuminator, and a “TrueDepth” front camera. Nevertheless, the user is likely to drop the face unlock feature and will have to resort to a passcode in order to unlock the phone in case any of these parts stop working.
Moreover, the latest Apple repair option makes true sense as the replacement of a complete unit can evidence extravagant on the supply-chain front. It further makes the process of data transfer clumsy, particularly if a user does not have Apple’s iCloud backup subscription.
