Samsung is no longer the top European phone seller despite being one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers all over the world. After hearing this, many people should have anticipated that the title of the top European phone seller has to pass to the California-based Cupertino tech giant Apple. However, that is the contrary case. Chinese giant Xiaomi currently claims the honor of being the top seller on the continent.
As per Strategy Analytics, Xiaomi shipped a record 12.7 million mobile units in Europe in the second quarter, offering it a market share of 25.3%. On the other hand, Samsung holds second place at the same time managed 12 million shipments for a 24% share.
Xiaomi got its YoY growth in Europe hit a magnificent 67.1% in comparison with the same time frame a year earlier. On the other hand, Samsung’s decrease -7%. As a result, the other two Chinese organizations further got a massive rise in shipments.
Oppo held 4th position and was up 180% YoY, and Realme got an incredible 1800% rise. However, both only succeeded in taking small market share percentages, 5.6% and 3.8%, individually.
According to Associate Director at Strategy Analytics, Boris Metodiev,
“Xiaomi has seen great success in Russia, Ukraine, Spain, and Italy among others and found customers eager for its Mi and Redmi series of feature-rich, value smartphones.”
Furthermore, possibly Xiaomi’s development was helped by the downfall of Huawei in Europe and LG’s depart from the smartphone market. According to the; latest report, the latter’s decision to stop manufacturing smartphones had left a void in the United States market crowded with OnePlus, Nokia HMD, and Motorola.
The post-Covid revival has viewed in general smartphone shipments hit 50.1 million in Europe, up 14.4% YoY. But, development fall Quarter-to-Quarter by -15% from 59.1 million shipments in Q1 2021.
It’s been a fabulous couple of weeks for Xiaomi because it’s presently Europe’s biggest phone seller as well as it further brought Apple down its number two spot in the worldwide rankings the previous month.
