It is been years since we saw no change in Windows 10’s taskbar. Microsoft started experiments with some new features added a few months ago. In January, insiders were allowed to test out a new weather and news widget, aptly called “News and Interests.” Perhaps, Microsoft has worked out major bugs because that feature is compatible with all Windows users soon.
Due to Covid – 19 pandemic, a lot of people are working from home nowadays. Thus, Microsoft wants to provide a solution to make their workday a little more comfortable. The News and Interests bar is the way Microsoft hopes to make its vision possible. With the arrival of this feature, Windows 10 customers will see a new weather widget on their taskbar.
It will show the temperature, a small round sun icon, changing color according to the sky conditions such as cloudy, sunny, rainy, etc.
If you just need a quick view of the weather, simply leave the widget as it is, and never interact with it. But, if you do choose to dig anymore, you can go to the Interests interface by click on it.
Here, you will see a list of content personalized for you. It includes stock tickers, traffic conditions, news headlines, and much more. You can disable any of the categories that don’t appeal to you and keep only what matters for you.
If you feel category management is much broad for you, you can easily turn into more specific. There is an option for you to select the News stories, you see interests. Even you may select the publishers of your interests. It will help you in arranging algorithms per your tastes.
If you are not interested in what is given, you may go to the News and Interests feature off entirely. Keeping that in mind, this update will prove much helpful, customizable, and most necessary for many users, optional
News and Interests will arrive at the Windows 10’s taskbar userbase over the “next several weeks,” but we have no specific ETA at the moment.
