According to recent reports, messaging platform, Telegram is going to launch the latest Sponsored Messages feature. The company stated that this new feature is going to let users promote their channels and bots.
As per the company, there will still be no ads in chats on Telegram even though after adding the new feature. Sponsored messages are not going to show up in your chat list, private chats, or groups, according to the company.
Furthermore, the company has begun that user data is not going to be utilized to target ads. According to Telegram, Sponsored messages feature is just going to be displayed in large public one-to-many channels, which have above 1000 members, and will be in accordance with the topic of the public channels in which they are shown. This indicates that no user data is going to be examined to show them.
Telegram further noted that admins of one-to-many channels on Telegram send frequent messages to encourage something, and the creation of the Sponsored Messages will allow a more “user-friendly” method for the same.
However, for the time being, the Sponsored messages feature is in the testing phase. And it is not available to everyone at once. The reports further added that once the feature is completely released and the company covers its fundamental costs, Telegram will start sharing ad income with the admins of the channels where Sponsored Messages are shown.
The company additionally added that it is not at all going to share personal data with advertisers. Apart from this, Telegram shortly rolled out the latest 8.2 update, which comes with multiple features. The recent update facilitates matters for users to search the photos or videos and further provides admins more control over who can join and watch the chat with advanced settings.
The update allows users to have access to global chat themes, new interactive emojis. Also, it is going to let users add captions to the images shared on Telegram.
