For the messaging platform, voice and video calls were the highlights of 2020. 20 billion WhatsApp messages were received and sent worldwide on New Year’s Eve in 2019. Moreover, 12 billion messages were sent in India only out of these 20 billion messages. WhatsApp has its greatest number of users in India that are about 400 million.
In 2020, there is a considerable increase in live broadcasts in addition to voice and video calls. More than 55 million live broadcasts occurred on Instagram and Facebook on New Year’s Eve 2020 worldwide.
