The WHO (World Organization Health) has ultimately rolled out its COVID-19 Updates app, which is available to download on Google Play Store. Moreover, the organization utilizes a time of eight months for the development of the mobile application, which provides updates on the current COVID-19 pandemic.
The new app termed “WHO COVID-19 Updates,” features authentic information concerning COVID-19. Nevertheless, the WHO COVID-19 Updates app does not has basic contact tracing features. Apart from this, the WHO had launched a similar app back in April current year. However, the tech giant deleted the app from the Play Store by announcing that it wasn’t meant for public availability.
For getting the “WHO COVID-19 Updates” application, you have to open the Play Store and click on the Download button. The application weighs just 8.8MBs. Moreover, the application has downloaded over 1,000 so far. It offers users information from WHO’s experts and its regional partners.
A “Check-Up” tab in the app featuring a list of symptoms related to coronavirus. While the “Learn” tab informs updates about traveling. The app will also give you real-time notifications on the latest updates. The description noted in the app is,
“We’re working hard to partner with regional experts in new locations. When you enroll for notifications, when we get new information about your region, we’ll update you”.
However, in most areas, the app works with country-specific data.
In addition to these, the application is going to provide safety precautions to users on how to protect themselves from critical situations.
