This year, Chinese tech giant Xiaomi may be setting up to launch its tab portfolio with Mi Pad 5. The company introduced its last tablet in June 2018. According to a leak, Xiaomi may introduce its Mi Pad 5 in 2021 with great specs that enable it to compete with Apple’s one of the top tablet “iPad Pro.”
The latest leak corroborated the Chinese media’s information that Xiaomi has plans to release its new tablet this year. Weibo is the source of the latest leak, where a tipster @Panda has brought some details about the new Mi Pad 5 tablet into the light.
A Snapdragon 870 processor may back the upcoming tablet. And boast a 10.95-inches LCD with a 2K screen resolution, as per Weibo post. It is also expected to come with a 480Hz touch sampling rate and 144Hz refresh rate. The tipster further noted that BOE and China Star Optoelectronics are supplying the screen.
As per MyFixGuide, Xiaomi’s new tablet may arrive with a 20-megapixel back camera and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor. The tablet features a side-fingerprint scanner, 8.13mm thickness, and weighs about 510 grams. It could arrive in two variants. The Mi Pad 5 Pro with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 processor and Mi Pad 5 with Snapdragon 870 processor.
The reported tablet could be Xiaomi’s first tablet in three years as its last tablet came in 2018. However, it worth noting that how the tech giant markets its new tablet.
Last year, many tablets and laptop companies registered a surge in sales due to a lockdown. It seems the company decided to relaunch its new tablet after noticing a rise in tablet growth in 2020.
