TikTok has become a popular short video-sharing platform throughout the world. Due to its exponential growth and popularity, other social media firms had to launch their competitors to this service. So, Snapchat launched Spotlight, Facebook launched Reels on Instagram and Google launched Shorts on YouTube. The Youtube’s Shorts firstly made its debut in India in 2020. Later on, at the beginning of this year, the company widened its presence to 26 countries in different regions of the world. Now, YouTube is making its TikTok rival available in more countries across the globe.
According to The Verge, the YouTube’s Shorts is now available in “more than 100 countries across the globe” wherein YouTube is available. With the increasing number of countries where YouTube Shorts are becoming available, shorter videos are likely to be available on the video-sharing platform more frequently. YouTube Shorts that are yet to be initiated, users can create short-form videos that are up to 60 seconds long. The feature is provided in both YouTube Android and iOS-based apps.
Steps to Record a YouTube’s Short
These are the steps through which YouTube users can record a Short:
Step 1: Tap on the Plus icon and then tap on the camera icon.
Step 2: For a longer Short of about 15 seconds, tap 15 above the record button to record up to 60 seconds.
Step 3: You have the option to change the speed of the video by tapping on the Speed button.
Step 4: To record a clip, hold the capture button or tap it to start recording and then again to stop.
Step 5: Tap the Done button to preview and enhance your video.
Step 6: Tap the NEXT button if you want to add more details to your video.
Step 7: Once you are done adding details Tap UPLOAD to finish.
It is interesting to know that while YouTube is experimenting with shorter video formats, TikTok, the social media platform that began the trend of short videos is testing long-form videos. As an instance, it recently tripled its maximum video length to three minutes.
